CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

August 13, 2018: ALERT - The sidewalk on the west side of 156th Street has not yet been completely replaced. We have placed a temporary rock surface in the areas that the sidewalk is missing in the interim. Students may cross Harrison Street on the west side of the intersection as this area is closed to traffic. There are large cones with yellow caution tape along with the road closure barricades indicating the walkway across Harrison. The contractor is aware that school has started and to anticipate pedestrian traffic before and after school in the area. They will take precautions to keep the construction activities away from the children.

THIS MILE-LONG ROADWAY PROJECT IS BEING IMPROVED FROM A TWO-LANE TO A FOUR-LANE ARTERIAL WITH TURN LANES AND MEDIANS.

The improvements will reduce travel time and congestion as well as improve safety. Construction is being completed in phases to minimize impacts for local access.
